Background
Imperial College London’s ICT department is a key contributor to campus carbon emissions – accounting for over 30%. As part of the university’s drive to reach net zero by 2040, ICT launched the Sustainability Superheroes campaign to encourage low-effort, high-impact behaviour change across its community.
Brief
Create a fun, inclusive campaign that makes sustainability feel personal – highlighting simple actions like shutting down devices, reducing printing, and donating unused tech.
Result
We developed the Be a Sustainability Superhero campaign, using bold cartoon-style hero characters to promote key actions:
Think before you print – Encouraging digital-first behaviour
Shut the lid to save the grid – Reducing energy waste from idle devices
The visuals were rolled out across digital screens and web, blending creativity with Imperial’s precise brand guidelines to engage staff and students across the university.
